The C-series (COMPENSER®) hydraulic industrial shock absorber is specifically designed for use in the storage and retrieval machines, smaller conveyor systems, crane systems, and test stands in the light to medium mechanical engineering industry. Its compact design allows for space-saving installation as an emergency end stop or limitation of the end position in industrial applications. The hydraulic buffer is also capable of operational push-in cycles at creep speed due to its low reset force.
In terms of design and function, the piston rod enters the metering tube, and the damping medium flows from the pressure chamber through the throttle orifices of the metering tube into the volume balance chamber. The nitrogen gas between the outer tube and the metering tube is compressed, storing the energy required for the reset of the piston rod. During the return of the piston rod to the initial position, the damping medium flows back into the pressure chamber.
