Cyclone Simulation

Suvis GmbH specializes in the application of modern numerical methods for the layout and optimization of various separator types, particularly cyclones. We use computer-aided investigation to predict particle separation efficiency in cyclones, allowing for the optimization of existing cyclones and the development of high-efficiency alternatives. This can often eliminate the need for expensive filter units, wet cleaners, or electro filters.

When applying numerical methods, specifically CFD simulations, to cyclones, we address the challenge of strong curvature in the streamlines due to swirl flow and changes in flow direction. This requires a departure from the assumption of isotropic turbulence and allows for more accurate predictions and optimization.
