The hydraulic industrial shock absorber of the C-series (COMPENSER®) is designed specifically for use in the storage and retrieval machines, smaller conveyor systems, crane systems, and test stands found in the light to medium mechanical engineering industry. It is the ideal hydraulic buffer for these applications.

With its compact design, the hydraulic buffer (COMPENSER®) can be utilized as both an end position limitation and emergency stop in industrial settings where space is limited. Its low reset force allows for operational push-in cycles at a slow and controlled speed.

The design and function of the hydraulic buffer are as follows: the piston rod enters the metering tube, and the damping medium flows from the pressure chamber through the throttle orifices of the metering tube into the volume balance chamber. The nitrogen gas, located between the outer tube and the metering tube, is compressed and stores the energy needed to reset the piston rod. When the piston rod returns to its initial position, the damping medium flows back into the pressure chamber.
