SRRC, the State Radio Regulation Committee, also known as the National Radio Management Committee, is responsible for regulating radio transmitting equipment in China. It was created in 1998 through the merger of the National Radio Monitoring Center and the National Radio Spectrum Management Center, forming the National Radio Monitoring Center of China.

In 1999, the Chinese government introduced specific frequency ranges for different types of radio transmitting equipment. This means that not all frequencies can be legally used in China. Any radio transmitting equipment sold or used in China must comply with these regulations and operate on approved frequencies. Applicants must also be aware of the designated scope for certain types of radio transmitting equipment. This requires obtaining the radio type approval certification, as well as the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) and/or network access license (MII) approval.

Therefore, SRRC certification, also known as SRMC certification, is essential for ensuring compliance with the regulations and obtaining the necessary approvals for radio transmitting equipment in China.
