In 1994, French vet Denis Heitz faced a challenge in removing ticks from his animal patients. He devised an effective and simple tick hook and patented it, selling it under the brands OTOM® and Tick Twister®. After selling his veterinary practice in 1995, Heitz established H3D. The Tick Twister® quickly gained popularity and became a best-seller, with over 2 million units sold annually in more than 35 countries worldwide. In 2010, H3D introduced BambooStick®, a cotton bud designed specifically for cleaning dogs' ears.
